Hi

May my wife and I express our thanks to you and your team for the excellent work you put to the weekend at coventry, there was a lot you had to contend with 'over and above the call of duty', but you all rose to the occasion and made it the great weekend it was. To: IOW Tours

On behalf of Hillingdon Blind Bowlers may I say a big thank you to IOW Tours, and in particular Claire Southwell and Vanessa Trow, for organising an excellent bowls tour for my group.

We enjoyed an excellent bowls match against The Exonia Bowling Club but it was a pity that the second match was cancelled due to bad weather. However, due praise must go to Vanessa for organising a last minute trip to a pub with a skittle alley. This was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone! Many thanks and we look forward to another enjoyable tour next year.

Dear Claire

We have now returned from our Isle of Wight Tour and on behalf of Chesterton Bowls Club, I would like to sincerely thank you and all the staff of IOW Tours for the very efficient and helpful service you have provided. It was comforting to know you were on hand daily in case of any problems.

The Tour was very successful indeed and everyone thoroughly enjoyed it. The coach was comfortable with a toilet as requested. We were very lucky with the weather, it was absolutely perfect. Our driver Darren (Crawley Luxury Coaches) was very nice and extremely helpful and obliging, that made a considerable difference to the general enjoyment to the tour. Please relay our thanks to him.

The hotel (Trouville, Sandown) was excellent, clean and comfortable, the food was very very good and the service in the resaurant superb. there was no grumbles at all and we will return there sometime in the future.

Many thanks again

Dear Sir/Madam

We have just returned from our weekend in the Isle of Wight which you arranged for us. We stayed at the Trouville Hotel and wanted to thank you for all your arrangements, we had a wonderful weekend in a fantastic location. Our driver Todd (Crawley Luxury Coaches) was also extremely helpful and if you talk to him, please tell him thanks from "the good time girls of Grays". We want to do another weekend hopefully at the other end of the Island next year and will be requesting Todd as our driver if possible.

Thank you so much once again for a wonderful time and I look forward to arranging another weekend with you soon.

Many thanks

Just a short note to thank ou all for the arrangements made on our behalf for our holiday on your wonderful Island. We could not have ordered better weather; our hotel (Trouville) was excellent and everywhere we went everyone was so pleasant.

Thank you once again and I hope you will be able to help us out in the future, the next time we would like to visit and see those things we could not on this trip.

Dear Sir,

We have just returned from a break at the Riviera Hotel (Weymouth) 24th - 28th September 07, which we all thoroughly enjoyed. As a group our main aim is to enjoy ourselves and we certainly did that. We were made welcome by staff and guests and our coach driver Terry (Dover Coaches) looked after us very well.

The group has asked me to write to you and express our thanks. We would particulary like to thank the staff in the restaurant who were brilliant. Nothing was too much trouble (Some of us have special diets) and though they were short staffed at times, coped so well with all the serving.

Anyone can find faults if they look for them but we all had a great time and would certainly consider a return trip.

Yours faithfully

Thank you for a very entertaining and enjoyable weekend for our reunion (RAF & Defence Fire Association). Being one of the rogues, so John our chairman always says, or the Dishforth Mob, what ever, we always enjoy a good laugh at these do's and this weekend was no exception, and so coupled with some good entertainment, I'm sure that the other two will agree with me when I say THANK'S for all your hard work and success in giving us a good ime.

Dear Shirley

I'm pleased to say my wife Anne and I arrived home safely last night from our Association Reunion. All aspects of the event were truly first class. The food was excellent as was the entertainment. The accommodation was value for money but most importantly the hospitality and efficiency of South Downs Holiday Village staff was highly commendable. We were made extremely welcome and I cannot remember receiving such high quality of service at any of our previous venues we used for our reunions.

I would like to take this opportunity to express on behalf of all our members and their partners who attended the event a big thank you for all the excellent service you provided. It was clear from the outset that you intended to make sure that the event would be a resounding success. I was very impressed Shirley, with your enthusiasm and hard work. I was also impressed with the genuine concern you showed for our members. It can not be easy dealing with members of the public who can at times complain ceaselessly about this, that and the other but you remained diligent, polite and conscientious with all our members throughout our reunion.

In my opinion I belive you entered into the spirit of friendship and fellowship that we strive to achieve as an ex service Association. Your cheerfulness and sense of fun made people very happy. I would also like to acknowledge the respect and reverence you showed to our Association whilst we were undertaking our parade and church service. You did not have to take part in those two events but you did and I thank you very sincerely for that.

In a very short space of time you have made yourself well known to our members. It is in my opinion important that we try while we can to bring some pleasure and enjoyment into others lives and you certainly did that this weekend. Once again Shirley many thanks and I look forward very much to seeing you at our next reunion.

Dear Shirley & Staff at IOW Tours

We cannot thank you enough for all the hard work that you put in to make our RAF Fire and Defence Services reunion at South Downs Holiday Village, Bracklesham Bay a real success. I think you have been adopted by Jo, John and all the guys on the committee as they are always singing your praises and now place you well and truly on a pedestal like their Guardian Angel.

The whole weekend was enjoyed by all our members even those who were initially a bit apprehensive about going to a holiday village; and it paid off if people were willing to give it a chance to show what it could provide for them. It was great to try something different especially as we had the whole place to ourselves with full use of the facilities. The food was very good as was the service both fast and efficient, we have never had full board before and it was welcome. The Ladies I am told were especially glad of it after a hard morning's shoping! Not to mention the men who had spent a hard mornings work at meetings and crawling over 2 Fire Tenders and a Rescue Boat.

Everyone was in praise of the entertainment-Live music and top quality performers. The Brass band was great and a big asset to the weekend making it possible for the parade to happen. If we have any criticism it is that we did not get sufficient time in our rooms as we were so busy. The rooms were more than adequate, warm, clean plus colour TV,tea and coffee making facilities and a choice of shower or bath. What more could you want? Provision of the hotel or chalets did also offer a choice of accommodation, subject to availability. The cost was also very attractive enabling some members to attend who said that they were unable to pay the higher costs charged at some previous reunions, this was much more affordable. The coach from the North was very popular and saved members having to make alternative arrangements, I'm sure that there would be a good take up of a coach in the future for similar distances.

Again the coach to Chichester for shopping on the Saturday morning was very popular with the Ladies and Pauline in particular wishes to repeat that experience. It was nice to have the coach on Saturday afternoon to go to Portsmouth were many of us went to visit the "Victory", or the "Warrior" or went up the "Spinnaker". This was good to go all together if desired as we do not usually get the opportunity to all go along with our Wives.

All in all it was the best weekend reunion we have ever had since the Association started in 1995 and will be a hard one to beat. We look forward to seeing what you can come up with for future reunions.

All the best and thank you Shirley for all your professionalism and commitment to our Association.

Dear Shirley

I cannot let the National Services (RAF) Association Annual Reunion at the Mansion Lions Hotel in Eastborne 25 - 29 October 2007 go by without a huge thank you on behalf of my members. We are all aware of the great effort you and your staff went to in an attempt to rescue the Association's visit to Eastbourne last year and I know that many were on tenterhooks wondering just what Eastbourne would throw at us this year. We need not have worried.

The food was good, the accommodation was first class, the staff couldn't have been more attentive to our needs, especially Mr Ron Brooker the Marketing Manager, who was on hand all day every day, making sure that everything ran smoothly. (Turns out he is ex RAF and has joined the Association). The entertainment was second to none, including on the Saturday evening a contribution from Pat Honey's Daughter.

The Gala Dinner on Saturday evening was graced with the attendance of the Mayor of Eastbourne, Councillor Mrs Mary Pooley and her Daughter. Delightful Ladies, who stayed for most of the evening and enjoyed the raffle with us, even managing to win a prize.

Finally I must say how hard Vanessa worked throughout the weekend especially at the Battle of Britain Memorial at Capel le Ferne where the weather was not at all kind to us. I know how the members appreciated her attention to detail and the fun and effort she put into the acting with the Entertainments Manager on the last night along with her role as 'Cheer Leader'.

Once again thank you
Very best wishes to you and your staff

Hi Shirley

I felt i just had to get this mail off to you straight away just to tell you what a fantastic trip you sent us on. (Royal Astrid Hotel, Ostend) I'm getting mail & calls from people just to say what a great time they have just had (26 - 30 Nov 07). As for Nina (IOW Tours) and Terry (Dover Coaches) they were great, nothing was to much trouble for them, they were a credit to your company. I don't think we will have much trouble organising that trip again or other trips, word will soon get around when they meet up. You were right the rum did flow quite well, where they got extra stocks from I will never know.

I arrived home about four hours ago after spending a superb weekend (11 - 14 January 08) at the Norbreck Castle Hotel in Blackpool.

I booked in a party of 23 people, some of whom were at the RAF(NS)Association AGM last year and some were there for the first time. Every one of the 23 have told me how much they enjoyed the weekend and asked if they could have another one next month. They actually bought me a 'Thank You' card!

I want to thank you Shirley and Vanessa for arranging a wonderful break which was tremendous value. I am looking forward to the next one already.

Dear Shirley

Just a short note to thank you for a most successful reunion. On behalf of my members I would like to thank you and your staff for the remendous effort put in by all concerned to make our reunion the success that it was. I am getting feed-back from members already and it is all good. Apart from the fact that they say they enjoyed the whole experience, they are at pains to point out that when they had snags, and these are inevitable, they were delt with immediately and in a cheerful caring manner.

As for myself I could not wish for a more cooperative team than your staff when i am dealing with the reunions, they still don't like trying to pronounce my name and they are too polite to call me John but they will get around to it if I keep on badgering them. You have a great team there and i salute then all.

We have just completed one of their most successful holidays yet! The weather helped considerably of course, but the walking was great, the Rainbow Hotel (Torquay) highly satisfactory, with exceptional service in the restaurant and an excellent food choice. In particular, we would like to praise our driver Brian (Crawley Luxury Coaches), whose never-ending cheerfulness and wit was a tonic to us all. He willingly co-operated in every request we made of him and we felt very much part of our group. Dear Shirley

I would like, on behalf of my members and myself, to thank you for the splendid arrangements that you made for us in Shanklin (Shanklin Hotel). The whole weekend went with a swing, and all comments that I have received have been very favourable. One member even told me that he wished we had discovered you 10 years ago (a compliment to you but perhaps a kick to me!). The overall view has been that the weekend was excellent value for money, that the arrangements were accurately tailored to our needs, and that if this was a true reflection of the way that IOW Tours do things, next year should be a sell-out. I found you and your team flexible and co-operative, and I have every confidence that we will be working together for many more reunions.

As you know, many of our members are involved with other associations and some are already in contact with their own reunion secretaries.

We are nowall looking forward to Scarborough.

A special mention for the drivers, Karl and Colin (Dover Coaches) they did all in their power to make certain we had a good holiday, made all our coach journeys comfortable and tried to entertain us (succeeded), they were also very helpful.
