The 31st Isle of Wight OPEN MATCHPLAY CHAMPIONSHIPS SCRABBLE WEEKEND is being held in January at the Shanklin Beach Hotel, overlooking the beach and glorious Sandown Bay.

Qualifying for Rating by Association of British Scrabble Players. All Scrabble Players Welcome.

Arrival at the hotel can be from lunchtime with check-in from 3pm and there is 2 nights with breakfast & dinner in en-suite accommodation and lunches on both Saturday & Sunday. Also included is tea & coffee during play.

Discounted ferry travel is aavailable to book through IOW Tours, either by car or as a foot passenger, again details on the booking form and can be booked online - Car & 2 passengers is just £65 for the return journey.

Tournament run in a round-robin format
Players will be allocated to divisions in rating order
Promotion/Relagations after 10 games
Depending on numbers, there should be 20 Matchplay games arranged in 6 sessions

Shanklin Beach Hotel

Located on the stunning seafront esplanade of Shanklin, and under new management, The Shanklin Beach Hotel is ideal for group holidays, weekend breaks and events for groups with the fantastic new function room.
